FindWhat.com teams up with Canadian Yellow PagesPosted 06/08/2004
Paid search company FindWhat.com has reportedly signed a deal with Yellow Pages Group (YPG), Canada's largest telephone directories publisher, to provide the technology and business operations to support a new Canadian-based pay-per-click advertising service.
The local search advertising service will be created specifically to match Canadian consumers with Canadian merchants and will be available in both English and French, according to a statement from the two companies.
The revenue-sharing partnership between the two firms will match FindWhat.com's technology and expertise with YPG's local sales staff and relationships with merchants. The new ad network's listings will run across YPG's online properties, reaching around 3.7 million unique visitors, and it is expected to debut in the second half of the year.
"YPG is the perfect local partner with which to expand into Canada. Not only are they experts in their marketplace through 96 years of providing Yellow Pages directories, but they are also the Canadian market leader in online web directory properties," said Craig Pisaris-Henderson, chairman and chief executive officer of FindWhat.com.
Jean-Pascal Lion, vice president - electronic directories, Yellow Pages Group, added: "Take YPG's current market position combined with our unique experience in the specialized directories marketplace, mix that with FindWhat.com's technology and operations expertise in pay-per-click advertising, and we hope to offer Canadians the perfect online Canadian marketplace that will benefit Canadian buyers and sellers alike." © DeHavilland Information Services plc
