Travel search engine SignPostX.com has introduced several new categories related to growing trends among American travellers.
The site now offers adventure, exotic, specialty, and sport vacation categories to enable travellers to find their perfect holiday.
The adventure vacations category includes fly-in-fishing, backpacking, whitewater rafting, hunting and many more, while exotic vacations might include a trip to Antarctica, sailing on a yacht, barge, freighter or ocean rafting. The specialty category offers weddings, historical, agriculture and Christian vacations and sport vacations features golfing, skiing, skateboarding, scuba diving, and mountain biking.
Six out of ten Americans say they plan to travel in 2004 and recent statistics have indicated that the US travel industry is starting to recover.
The travel sector is still the largest industry in the US, employing 7.2 million people and generating more than $545 billion a year. Travel is also the largest and fastest growing business on the internet.
